Impronta Ensemble 2nd Composition Competition 2020
The Ensemble Impronta is pleased to announce its 2nd Composition Competition 2020.
Composers of any age and nationality, are encouraged to submit works for any combination of the following instrumentation, ranging from solo to the whole orchestra:
String orchestra (18.104.22.168.2.)
[6 Violin I / 6 Violin II / 4 Viola / 4 Cello / 2 Double-bass]
There is no style restriction; we consider the quality of imagination and musical invention.
Any composer is eligible, regardless of age and nationality. Each work must not be longer than 10 minutes. There is no minimum duration. The submitted pieces can be already performed but not previously published.
Deadline: 15th May 2020 (23:59 Berlin time)
I: 1.000 EUR + publication of the piece by Impronta-Edition + performance
II: 500 EUR + publication of the piece by Impronta-Edition + performance
III: publication of the piece by Impronta-Edition + performance
Performances of the winning pieces will take place on 19 August 2020 at Budapest House of Music. The Publication on Impronta-Edition is voluntary for the composer.
There is an entry fee of 55 EUR for the first work. Additional entries may be submitted for 25 EUR each. Each composer can submit up to 5 works.
Those who apply within the 15th May 2020 to the SHE LIVES Master Class have the right to access to the competition without paying the competition fee for the first work sent. If the partecipant wishes to send more then one work it should be corresponded 25 EUR per each additional work, up to 5 works maximum (including the score sent for the Master Class). Those who do not use the SPECIAL APPLICATION for the SHE LIVES Master Class option but who participate in the composition competition without receiving any prize are entitled to a 10% discount on the Master Class entry fee as active students.

with the following documents attached:
1) Score(s) in PDF format. Submitted pieces must be anonymous, only the title of the piece should appear on the score. Handwritten scores will be also accepted, but they should be perfectly readable.
2) Short biography of the composer
3) Commentary of the submitted works (NOT compulsory)
4) MP3 of performance recording, if any (NOT compulsory)
5) Receipt or screenshot of entry fee payment
6) Registration form filled in and signed (download it here)
All submissions must be sent and fees paid within 23:59, Berlin time, of 15th May 2020. Entries and payments received after this date will not be considered. The winning works will be announced latest by 7th June 2020. The decision of the jury is final. The results will be announced on our website and across our social media platforms as well as in private e-mails.
Those who apply to the competition through the SHE LIVES Master Class must pay the fee for additional pieces to the SHE LIVES bank account (visit http://www.shelivesmusic.it/masterclass-eng/) as well as sending all the documents to: email@example.com
The winning composer must provide the parts latest by 1st July 2020.

The selected composer retains the ownership of the copyright for the selected work but he/she has to grant Impronta Ensemble irrevocable right to use and perform the work at the concert without any further compensation.
